So I may have given the impression from some of my previous posts that I’m lazy and like eating just a little bit too much. This isn’t completely false. I tend to go through phases of loving exercise then not having the time of day for it – I can’t be the only one who does this? I’m starting to get that urge to improve my fitness and put a bit of effort in, but then the question is how do I go about it this time?
In the past I’ve done the gym and various classes, right now I don’t feel like they’re the best options for me. First off they cost too much money. Secondly, it feels like too much of a time suck committing to going somewhere else to get sweaty when I’ve got other things I want to be getting on with. So, how to get fit?
In this day and age there’s an app for everything (I realise how old I sound with that expression) so why not put my health in the digital hands of an app? I think I may have found the perfect one. It’s basically a combination of all the 30 day challenges going – abs, arms, legs, bum, general fitness.
Now if I’m going to be taking orders from my phone, I refuse to follow the rule of only being to start a diet or fitness regime on a Monday (such a rebel, I know). There’s a very good chance I’m taking on a little bit too much doing all the challenges at the same time, but go hard or go home, right?
The app seems to have a pretty good set up. It has little demonstrations for all the exercises, recipe ideas, sections to track your weight with numbers and photos, and most importantly a motivational quotes section. Best part is, it’s free!
One downside to this re-found enthusiasm for exercise, all my work out clothes are packed away waiting for the big move. I might just have to abandon my stubbornness, bite the bullet and unpack a bag. Or I can just make do with whatever isn’t packed, after all it’s not like anyone else will be witness to the walking workout fashion disaster. Not the end of the world, and not worth worrying about – unless I give working out outside a go then the neighbors might be worried!
Fingers crossed I’ll be able to muster up enough motivation to stick with everything for 30 days. It’d be pretty amazing to get to the end, feel better in myself and in my clothes!
